Irene is a senior associate with L. Papaphilippou & Co LLC, having joined the Firm in November 2016. Her main area of practice is Privacy and Personal Data Protection and is the Data Protection Officer (DPO) of L. Papaphilippou & Co LLC.

She primarily provides legal services related to Privacy and Personal Data Protection matters to organisations, as well as to individuals. Her work in this area covers a wide range of services, including drafting and reviewing specialised documentation (e.g. contracts, consent forms, policies and procedures, data protection impact assessments, records of processing activities etc.), providing legal advice (e.g. GDPR compliance obligations, rights of individuals etc.) and representing clients in various disputes and procedures, including before the competent authorities.

Moreover, she has experience in and provides legal services in various legal sectors, indicatively, in the technology area, regulatory sector (AML, sanctions, EU Law matters etc.), banking and finance sector (online banking area, provision of legal consulting services in various financial areas, etc.), as well as in matters of international law, constitutional law, human rights law, administrative law, labour law, matters of local governance and, in general, legal matters related to the sector of commercial enterprises.

In the past, she taught several legal subjects at the Nicosia University, the Neapolis University of Pafos and the University of Bristol.
